Oimo is a new materials and eco-design startup which aims to reduce the 14 million tonnes of plastic which end up in our seas every year.

It has developed Oimo Material, a marine degradable and compostable material which has similar mechanical properties of plastic for high performance, but is made from readily available raw materials from the agriculture and food industry meaning it doesn't harm our nature once discarded. We've adapted our material to be compatible with current machinery for processing plastics, including extrusion and injection moulding, meaning ease of adoption for our new material within the industry for a different range of applications as well as its scalability.
